How to find us

Screenings: Take place on the esplanade in front of the spectacular castle.

Parking:

  • On-site parking is available in the main car park and overflow areas. Please follow signage and stewards’ directions on arrival.
  • Parking is just £2 for daytime shows. For evening shows, parking is free from 5pm onwards.
  • For daytime shows, we advise paying via the RingGo app (quoting location 41185) for ease or you can head to one of the tills in Admissions.
  • If you plan to spend more than £5 in the cafe, shop, or on entry to the gardens, you can enter your car registration at the tills when you pay for free parking.

  • There is accessible parking available 200m from the event space, please ask our stewards on arrival for directions.
  • There is a hardstanding, wheelchair accessible path followed by a grassed, gradual slope up to the event space.
  • The events will be held on flat ground with short grass.
  • There will be accessible toilet facilities on-site.
  • Please speak to the friendly stewards if you require any assistance.

Deaf & Hard of Hearing Guests:

What age is Adventure Cinema suitable for?

Film classifications always apply at Adventure Cinema events, and the team may refuse entry to anyone who is underage or unaccompanied.

  • For proof of age for age restricted films, please bring official photo ID with your date of birth, such as a passport, driving licence or student card.
  • Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. Children under 2 go free and do not need a ticket.
  • For The Gruffalo shows and Bing and His Friends at the Cinema, children under 1 go free but still require a ticket. All other ages will need a valid ticket.

What happens if it rains at Adventure Cinema?

All events are outdoor and will go ahead in the event of rain.

  • Please check the forecast on the day of the screening and come prepared for the conditions.
  • If it does rain, you just need to call upon the Great British spirit, dress accordingly, and live for the moment!
  • The team closely monitor weather forecasts in the lead up to shows and should there ever be any concern regarding the weather, all ticket holders will be informed by email/text but otherwise it can be assumed that shows will be going ahead as planned.
Is there food and drink at Adventure Cinema?

Food, snacks, soft drinks and a bar will be available at most events and the team recommend bringing cash as not all vendors will take card payments.

  • No alcohol or glass can be bought into Lowther Castle.
  • Please ensure all food is brought in non-glass containers.
  • You are welcome to bring your own picnic and snacks to all Adventure Cinema events.
  • Glass is not permitted at any venue, so please ensure all food and drink is brought in non-glass containers.

The team will always ask traders to cater for all dietaries, but if you have specific requirements, it is advisable to bring a little something along with you, just in case there isn’t something suitable at the event.
