Book Audley End House and Gardens tickets for a grand day out in Saffron Walden

If you love places with serious “wow” factor (and plenty of space to roam), Audley End House and Gardens is your kind of day out. Explore one of England’s most impressive mansions, then head outside for Capability Brown parkland, a restored parterre, and an organic kitchen garden that’s always changing with the seasons.

  • Explore the great hall, state rooms and intimate private apartments inside the house
  • Discover life “below stairs” in the Service Wing, including Victorian kitchens and working spaces
  • Meet the resident horses in the grand Victorian stable block
  • Wander award-winning parkland and gardens shaped by Capability Brown
  • Let kids play in the 1830s Nursery Wing and enjoy family-friendly play areas outdoors

See how a great house really worked - upstairs, downstairs, and everywhere in between

Audley End is brilliant at bringing the past to life. One minute you’re taking in lavish interiors and historic details, the next you’re stepping into the practical world that kept the house running - from coal and hot water in the Coal Gallery to the fascinating “below stairs” spaces of the Service Wing.

Outside, swap chandeliers for fresh air. Stroll through the gardens (don’t miss the parterre), then follow paths into wide-open parkland with big views, mature trees and plenty of room for picnics, kite-flying and a proper leg-stretch.
