Important Information:
  • Bad Weather: Sessions will go ahead in rain. If lightning and thunder are nearby, the session will be paused immediately for your safety and you will wait for 30 minutes to ensure the weather has passed. If the weather continues to be unsafe, you'll be offered the chance to rebook for later in the day, rebook for a different day or you're eligible for a refund. 
  • Ability to Swim: Participants should have basic swimming skills for safety
  • Water Quality: The lake water at Upton Warren is monitored and tested on a minimum of a monthly basis between May and September.
  • Waterproof Cameras: All cameras must be secured by a chest harness. The team cannot be held responsible for any lost devices - wearing a camera is at your own risk. If lost the water is deep in excess of 3m.
  • Wildlife & Fish: There are ducks and geese that live on and around the lakes at Upton Warren and Lower Moor. There are also fish in the lakes, both large and small.
  • Alcohol Consumption: Please note alcohol consumption is not allowed prior to your session. 
What age is the Paddleboard Hire in Lower Moor suitable for?

Lower Moor’s lake gives you 5 acres of open water to explore - perfect if you're new to kayaking or prefer a gentler session. If you're after more space to paddle and roam, check out Upton Warren's 20-acre lake.

  • Min. Age: Participants must be at least 8 years old, however an adult must remain on site
  • Weight Limit:  Typically, there is a weight limit of around 120 kg (18 stone) per Stand Up Paddle Board
  • Ability to Swim: Participants should have basic swimming skills for safety
What should you bring to Aztec Adventure in Lower Moor?

To ensure your Aztec Adventure is as safe and comfortable as possible, the team recommend bringing the following:

  • Swimwear, wetsuit or water-friendly attire
  • Towel for showers/changing
  • Closed-toe water shoes or old trainers
  • Warm hat or sun hat
  • Sun cream
  • Clothes for on the water, such as jogging trousers and sweatshirt
  • Spare change of clothes

Is Aztec Adventure dog-friendly?
  • Upton Warren: No dogs allowed. It’s a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) protected by Natural England.
  • The Lost Valley: Dog-friendly! Well-behaved pups are welcome.
  • Lower Moor: Dogs allowed but must be kept on a lead and are not permitted in the lake.

It’s recommended that you book in advance, as some activities have limited availability. You can view opening times and real-time availability for each activity when purchasing tickets online.

Upton Warren:

  • Monday - Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00.
  • Open Water Swimming Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7 May 18:00 - 19:30

Lower Moor:

  • Monday - Sunday: 10:00 - 15:30.
  • Hire Wednesdays 18:00 - 20:00 & Fridays 18:00 - 20:00
