The Stereo MC’s burst onto the global music scene with their iconic 1992 hit “Connected”, a track that cemented their place in the international Top 20 and became the centerpiece of their critically acclaimed album of the same name. That album soared to #2 on the UK Album Chart, featuring standout singles like “Step It Up,” “Creation,” and “Ground Level.” Its success earned the group two Brit Awards in 1994 - one for Best Group and another for Best Album.

The story of Stereo MC’s began in the mid-1980s, when Rob Birch and Nick Hallam, childhood friends and neighbours, channeled their shared passion for early hip-hop, funk, and electronic music into a creative partnership. Driven by DIY spirit, they pressed their first 12” vinyl and co-founded G Street Records, an independent label launched alongside Kiss FM DJ Richie Rich and entrepreneur Jon Baker. From underground innovators to chart-topping pioneers, Stereo MC’s carved out a legacy that still resonates today.

Is Dreamland: Ballroom wheelchair accessible?

Both the Hall By The Sea and Ballroom venues at Dreamland are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Hall By The Sea features an accessible platform that accommodates up to six wheelchair users, each with a companion, carer, or personal assistant - totalling 12 tickets, sold as six pairs. These tickets must be booked in advance through the Dreamland website.

Accessible platform tickets also grant entry to the unreserved disabled access area. Dreamland provides a complimentary companion or personal assistant ticket with every disabled ticket booking. Attendees will be required to present proof of eligibility upon entry.
