Basing Wood

Filled with beautiful animals, a play area for children as well as three walking trails, there's plenty for all ages to enjoy in the 120-acre Basing Wood.

Only two miles north of Basingstoke, you’ll find this remarkable forest filled with conifers and broadleaves.

Download a map to choose from one of three trails to explore.

Take the blue trail and you'll find yourself right in the heart of Basing Wood.

You’ll love admiring the forest meadow or seeing what you can spot in the pond.

There are lots of resting places too, which is perfect if you’ve brought along a bag filled with delicious snacks.

Along the yellow trail, you can get great views of the grounds of The Vyne, a National Trust property with gorgeous gardens.

Perhaps you fancy a flatter walk?

You’d best bring wellies or walking boots and explore the butterfly trail, which is easier to manage but can get quite muddy!
