Beale Wildlife Park is conveniently located at Lower Basildon, 6 miles from Reading on the A329 between Pangbourne and Streatley.

By Car:

  • Located 7 miles north-west of Reading, on the west side of the A329.
  • If you are driving, please exit the M4 junction 12 and follow the signs for Beale Wildlife Park and Pangbourne.
  • Sat Nav Users: RG8 9NW
  • Parking is free!

By Train:

  • Pangbourne railway station is approximately 1.4 miles from Beale Wildlife Park.
  • If you are travelling by train, you can get off at Pangbourne station and catch a taxi to Beale Wildlife Park (it is only about a 3 minute car journey from the station).
  • It’s best to pre-book a taxi as there is no taxi rank at this station.

By Foot:

  • It is possible to walk to Beale Wildlife Park from Pangbourne station, but please be advised that it is around a 25-minute walk along a main road.

The Wild Café is open daily.

  • Hot and cold food is served from 10:30am – 4:00pm.

Drinks and snacks are also available to buy at the Gift Shop from 11am – 5pm.

Picnics:

You're welcome to bring your own picnic to Beale Wildlife Park. There are plenty of tables around the park, or you can choose a spot in the garden to enjoy your picnic. 

What are the opening times for Beale Wildlife Park?

Beale Wildlife Park is open 7 days a week.

  • Autumn and winter: 10am – 4pm
  • Spring and summer: 10am – 5pm
  • Entry closes an hour earlier then the parks closing times.

Please note, the first hour of opening can be busier, especially over weekends, holidays and during special-offer periods. Families with young children may want to consider this when planning your day.

Are there any rules for Beale Wildlife Park?

There are a handful of rules to follow at Beale Wildlife Park, to ensure everyone has a safe and comfortable experience. 

  • No dogs allowed. Only service dogs will be permitted providing the visitor supplies the official paperwork and the dog is wearing the official “working dog” uniform.
  • No scooters or bicycles allowed.
  • No balls of any kind are permitted (for example footballs, bouncy balls etc).
  • The site is a no-smoking and no-vaping zone. There is a designated smoking/vaping area available outside in the car park to the left of the ticket office.
