Spring has officially sprung at Belvoir Castle’s Adventure Playground, and something egg‑straordinary is happening… our friends from Belvoir Animal Park have been very busy preparing for a seasonal surprise — but things haven’t quite gone to plan!

The Giant Easter Story Egg Trail:

  • Giant, beautifully illustrated Story Eggs have mysteriously appeared all over the playground — each one showing a mischievous animal friend painting, planting, stacking, or getting into Easter trouble. And now it’s your turn to join the fun as an official Eggs-plorer!
  • Grab your little adventurers and follow the rhyming clues hidden throughout the playground. Track down each oversized Story Egg, answer the playful questions, and piece together the full Easter tale
  • Once you’ve cracked the trail, head to the Belvoir Farm Shop to redeem your special Eggs-plorer prize — a perfect treat to celebrate your success!

  • Castle: Due to the historic nature of Belvoir Castle, access is limited to the ground floor only. The upper floors are only accessible via a staircase, with no lift access available due to the building's historic nature. For visitors unable to access the upper floors, a comprehensive guidebook can be borrowed free of charge from the visitor hub. These guides feature high-quality photography, videos, and information about the rooms and collections on the upper floors.
  • Gardens & Grounds: Parts of the gardens are accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, though some areas feature steep slopes, steps, and uneven terrain due to the castle's hillside location.
  • Retail Village: The Retail Village is fully accessible, with level access to all shops and facilities. Wide doorways and smooth surfaces make this area suitable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

Yes, Belvoir Castle is a dog-friendly destination! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all areas with the exception of the castle, the farm shop and the adventure playground. They are very welcome in the grounds and gardens, the dining areas and the retail village. 

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout Belvoir Castle, including in the castle itself, gardens, and retail village. Water bowls are available at various locations.

A fortified structure was first built on the castle site immediately after the Norman Conquest of 1066.
