Is the Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway accessible?

Please find here accessibility information regarding the Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway:

  • Car Park: For those with mobility needs, there is parking on hard standing close to the ticket office. During the week, on a non-event day, you may drive down to the Tearoom to drop off any passengers close to the Tearoom and return to the car park with your vehicle.
  • Engine Shed: Access to the engine shed is a wide and gentle slope. There are no steps within the building.
  • Platforms and Carriages: Both platforms have accessibility ramps available to embark/disembark the carriages to enable wheelchairs/scooters/prams on board. We have one carriage with capacity of two wheelchairs. If you are able to leave the chair/scooter/pram at our designated parking next to the platform you are welcome to.
  • Toilets: There is one toilet available with wheelchair access, handrails and a baby change table. This is situated next to the platform and opposite the Tearoom.
  • Tea Room: The tea room entrance is ramped to allow for chair/scooter access.
Are dogs allowed at Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway?

Yes, well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome. 

Are prams allowed at Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway?

Yes prams for small babies are able to board the train, however as space is limited, pushchairs for older children are asked to be parked at the station prior to the ride.

The train ride takes approximately 15 minutes.
