On New Year’s Day, Chasewater Railway invites you to climb aboard for a magical winter journey through the stunning Chasewater Country Park.

All day long, the team will be running as many trains as they can, because what better way to welcome the new year than with the sound of whistles and the warmth of heritage carriages?

  • The main station building is fully accessible, with only a small threshold at the gift shop, which includes a ramp for easier entry.
  • No marked disabled parking bays are available due to local restrictions, but staff will assist in parking as close to the entrance as space and safety allow.
  • The train is accessed via a ramp, accommodating up to six seated wheelchair users and their companions; guards are available to assist with boarding and alighting.
  • The Sidings Tea Room is accessible to all; due to counter height, staff are happy to provide table service if preferred.
  • Mabel’s Vintage Carriage has steps and is operated independently of the railway; visitors requiring access should contact them directly.
  • The bric-a-brac and model railway coaches on Platform 1 have ramped access, with assistance available upon request.
  • The heritage centre and museum offer level access but are approached via inclines and a dual track level crossing, which may pose a trip or wheel jam hazard—assistance is available if needed.
  • A non-alarmed, wide-access disabled toilet is located in the main station building.

Accessibility at Heaths Station:

  • The main station building is accessible via low thresholds; assistance is available upon request.
  • The café is independently operated but offers level access for all visitors.
  • A non-alarmed, wide-access disabled toilet is located within the main station building.
  • The train is accessed via a ramp, accommodating up to six seated wheelchair users along with their companions; staff are available to assist with boarding and alighting.
  • Due to local restrictions, there are no marked disabled parking bays; however, staff will do their best to park those in need as close to the entrance as space and safety allow.
  • The G Scale model railway is not accessible to visitors with mobility impairments or wheelchair users, as it is located in the roof space above the station.
  • Safety regulations have advised that there is insufficient space to install a suitable lift or ramp to access the model railway.
