Raptor Encounter

Introducing the breathtaking Raptor Encounter. A 1½ hour falconry taster session: put on the falconry gauntlet and fly two birds of prey!

What to expect on your Raptor encounter

  • On arrival, you will be greeted by one of our falconers who will guide you around our collection of birds.
  • Afterwards in the all-weather display area, you will be shown how to fly the birds. There is nothing quite like excitement when a bird of prey lands on your glove for the first time!
  • From start to finish you will be in the midst of the action, whilst our knowledgeable falconer guides and educates you in all aspects of the raptor world.
  • This encounter includes refreshments and access to our weathering lawn and aviaries!

Meet the Birds

Be amazed as you get hands-on and fly a variety of birds of prey! In our three-hour session, you will be flying different species of birds of prey. A remarkable experience you will never forget!

What to expect on your meet the birds experience

  • After an initial handling session, you will progress to flying up to six different species of birds of prey from the collection of;

By Car:

If you’re coming from the M6, take junction 19 and follow the A49/A556 to Sandiway, Northwich.
If you’re approaching from Chester or Wales, follow the A556 to Northwich.
Blakemere Craft Centre is located at the crossroads of the A49 and the A5561.

Public Transport:

You can take the bus or train to get closer to Blakemere Craft Centre.
For bus travel, use the 82 bus route.
For train travel, take the Northern West Midlands Railway2.
