How to find us

By car: 

Chester Zoo is well connected to the motorway and road network.

The main entrance is just off the A41 / Moston Road. The zoo is well signposted when you approach Chester, just look out for the brown tourist signs. Once you get onto the A41, stay on that road until you reach a roundabout with signs for Chester Zoo.

Please note: Do not turn down Flag Lane North as it’s a dead end.

Chester Zoo is fully accessible to wheelchair users. There are free disabled parking spaces at the main entrance. 

Dogs are not permitted to Chester Zoo, with the exception of assistance dogs registered with an accredited training provider.

Please note the assistance dogs in training are not allowed into the zoo. 

Visitors with disabilities may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when you pay for a full price adult or child ticket. Please make sure you bring one of the supporting documents:

  • PIP letter

  • Any other appropriate supporting documentation as issued by your local council

Yes, you're very welcome to bring your own picnic to Chester Zoo. There are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. 

No, there are no lockers on site, and visitor belongings, such as large bags or suitcases can not be stored anywhere. Please refrain from bringing extra baggage into the zoo.

Chester Zoo is a huge site and you can easily spend the full day exploring everything the zoo has to offer. You should allow a minimum of 3-4 hours to get the most out of your visit to Chester Zoo.
