The course also covers capsize recovery, giving you the practical skills and safety knowledge needed to respond calmly and correctly. Expert instructors will help you improve your boat control, handling and independence throughout the course.

  • How to rig and launch a sailing boat
  • How to sail close-hauled, on a reach and on a run
  • Practical capsize-recovery techniques
  • How to improve boat control and handling
  • How to make appropriate sailing decisions in good conditions
  • How to sail and handle a boat safely with greater independence

By the end of the course, successful participants should be able to rig and launch a boat, sail confidently in all directions and complete a capsize recovery. You will also develop the confidence to make decisions under supervision and sail independently in moderate conditions.
