Hear the stories, see the stills & taste the spirits

Your guide will lead you through the Copeland production process, sharing how the team creates its range of award-winning spirits using carefully selected ingredients and coastal inspiration.

Step onto the production floor and get a closer look at the distillery’s three bespoke copper stills, Betty, Hessie and Pam. You’ll learn about the techniques behind Copeland’s gin, rum, Irish whiskey and coffee liqueur, with plenty of insight into what takes each drink from an idea to the bottle.

The building has a story of its own. Copeland Distillery occupies a restored former picture house dating back to 1915, just a short distance from Donaghadee Harbour. During the tour, you’ll hear how the town’s maritime heritage, the Copeland Islands and tales of smuggling and seafaring have helped shape the distillery and its drinks.

Sip and sample Copeland’s award-winning coastal spirits

No distillery tour would be complete without a taste. Your experience includes samples from Copeland’s spirit portfolio, giving you the chance to discover different flavours while learning about the botanicals, ingredients and processes behind them.

After the guided section of the experience, you’ll have around 30 minutes to spend in the Visitor Centre. Browse bottles and merchandise, enjoy the surroundings and pick out a favourite to take home.
