How to find us

By tram: 

The quickest and easiest way to the tour from Manchester City Centre and surrounding areas is by tram. Be sure to stop at the Imperial War Museum Tram Stop and you’ll see the entrance on the left. Look out for the The Coronation Street Experience Flag and Signage.

By bus: 

MediaCity is well served by local bus and tram routes from Manchester and the surrounding areas. The nearest bus stop is 5 minutes away at Imperial War Museum served by Stagecoach route X50 from the City Centre.

Make your way to the ITV Studios building next to the Imperial War Museum. The entrance is behind this building.

By car: 

Situated in Salford, Manchester, MediaCityUK is well signposted. Use postcode M17 1FZ. The nearest car park is The Imperial War Museum Car Park. Please be aware NCP charges apply.

From the car park, follow the signage and flags for The Coronation Street Experience Entrance, the site is just next door!

Is there parking on-site at the Coronation Street Tour?

There is no parking on site. There are many local car parks around the attraction:

  • Imperial War Museum (30 second walk from the attraction)
  • Media City Car Park (5-minute walk from the attraction)
  • Quayside Shopping Centre parking (7-minute walk from the attraction)

NCP fees apply for recommended car parks.

When is the Coronation Street Tour?

The Coronation Street Experience is located on a live working set, as such filming schedules dictate opening hours.

The tour is open most weekends (subject to availability and filming plans).

Is The Coronation Street Tour accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes – The Coronation Street Experience is fully accessible, including the Visitor Centre and Exhibition area, located on the first floor, with access to a lift if required. The external street tour takes place on a working set, which includes cobbles, kerbs and uneven surfaces. Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and walking aids are welcome, but due to safety regulations, Coronation Street Experience is limited to 2 wheelchair or mobility scooter users per tour.

Accessible toilets are available in the Visitor Centre before and after your tour. As the tour takes place on a live working set, there are no toilet facilities available while on the tour route. If a guest requires the facilities during the tour, they will need to be escorted off the set by a member of staff and may miss part of the experience.

How long is the Coronation Street Tour?

The Coronation Street Tour lasts for 90 minutes. We recommend arriving a little earlier to ensure you’re ready to begin your journey through the iconic street right on time. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you’ll be on your feet exploring the rich history and captivating stories of this beloved TV show.

Will there be anywhere to eat or drink on the Coronation Street Tour?

Within the Visitor Centre, there is a café that offers a range of refreshments. Guests can choose from a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes, and snacks. It’s the perfect spot to refuel and reminisce about the tour or to simply relax and enjoy the ambience.

Can I take photographs on the Coronation Street Tour?

Absolutely! Visitors are encouraged to capture their memorable moments. You are welcome to take as many pictures as you want during your visit, but be respectful of any areas or moments where photography might not be permitted, which will be clearly indicated by staff.
