  • Meet the Horses: Featuring up to 20-30 shires depending on the season, you can meet the award-winning residents that run riot on the farm. PLUS: All of the female horses are named after famous Lochs. Can you spot them all?
  • Wildlife Watch Nature Trail: In collaboration with Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Cotebrook have the ultimate nature trail waiting to be explored, featuring native species, local species and more!
  • Woodland Trail: Explore four-and-a-half acres covered in 1500 trees and discover why this beautiful plot of land is so important. PLUS: Can you find the 14 carved animals hiding in the woods?
  • Walk on the Wildside: Join the Cotebrook team as they feed Otters, Polecats, Red Foxes and a Scottish Wildcat! Ask questions and gain insight into some of the most incredible animals onsite.
  • Lakeside Cafe: Dine in or grab a picnic and get comfortable outdoors! Either way, the Lakeside Cafe is open all day to help you rest, relax and refuel.

  • The farm has gentle slopes but is fitted with ramps to ensure an inclusive environment. 
  • You can visit the Easier Access Walk to visit the horses
  • Further afield is a cinder track which is suitable for most wheelchairs 
  • The Walks and Trails are grassed, which may present issues for wheelchair users

The Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre in Cheshire's opening times are as follows:

  • Open everyday: 10:00 - 17:00
  • Closed: Christmas Day and Boxing Day
  • The Lakeside Cafe and Gift Shop are open to all visitors, even if they are not visiting the centre

Yes! Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre is home to the Lakeside Cafe.

  • Opening Hours: 10:00 - 16:30
  • Menu: Hot & cold drinks, homemade soup, rolls, panini's, cakes, bakes and cream tea
  • Specials: Baked potatoes, warm apple pie and custard and so much more

Unfortunately, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre does not offer horse rides.

The Centre is open primarily to offer visitors an opportunity to meet, feed and pet the horses!

Due to the nature of the attraction, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre is not dog-friendly. 

This is for the safety of the animals and dogs; even the best behaved dog might not be able to resist the free range ducks and hens!

Assistance dogs are permitted onsite. The dogs must wear a coat or harness indicating their purpose.
