There are three treetop activities for you to choose from at Go Ape Surrey, as well as two forest biking courses: 

  • Treetop Challenge: The ultimate high ropes experience for those wanting to push themselves mentally and physically, with toe-trembling obstacles and five exhilarating zip wires. Suitable for anyone over 1.4m tall and aged at least 10 years old. 
  • Treetop Adventure: The perfect introduction to high ropes experiences, adventurers will encounter tree top loops and tricky bridges before taking a victorious zip wire descent back down. Suitable for anyone over 1m tall and aged between 4-6 years old.
  • Treetop Adventure Plus: A gentle step up from Treetop Adventure, experience a more challenging treetop trek with higher platforms, more obstacles and longer zips. Suitable for anyone over 1.2m tall and aged between 6-10 years old.
  • Forest Biking - Two Hours: Galivant through the grounds or speed through the scenery, visit Forest Biking for bike hire. Suitable for all ages. 
  • Forest Biking - Three Hours: If two hours of discovery isn't enough, ride through the rustic woodland for another hour. Suitable for all ages. 

Things to do near Alice Holt Forest, South Downs:

Located just four miles south of the historic town of Farnham, this majestic forest offers unrivalled views of the surrounding areas. Enjoy Scots pines, meadows and ancient woodland as you explore some of the finest scenery in the South Downs.

After your Go Ape adventure, explore the forestry trails on foot or bicycle - children will be spoiled with a plethora of play areas, as they discover wooden animal structures and The Gruffalo on the Timberline play trail!

If you're feeling peckish after a long day of family-fun, take a pit-stop at the onsite cafe. Serving hot and cold drinks alongside snacks and light meals, there's something for everyone to dine on - and if there's not, pack a picnic and find a secluded spot to enjoy your homemade feast.

How to find us

Address: Go Ape Alice Holt Forest, Bucks Horn Oak, Near Farnham, Surrey. GU10 4LS

By car:

Take the A325 to Bucks Horn Oak and follow signs to Alice Holt Forest. Alice Holt Forest is only a 'stone's throw' from Birdworld so you can follow these signs from the M3 if coming from the North or the A3 if coming from the South.

Look out for the Go Ape signs along the A325.

The peak time for the car park is between 10am – 2pm.

By Train:

The nearest station is at Bentley, approximately three miles from the Forest Centre. From here you can walk through Alice Holt Forest to the forest centre along public rights of way.

Alternatively, take the train to Farnham and catch the Stagecoach number 18 bus to the Forest. By bus Stagecoach number 18 runs from Farnham Station to Bucks Horn Oak, stopping at the Halfway House Cottages on the A325.

Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.

Wear sensible clothes for adventure and please ensure your midriff is covered.

Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning.

Rain makes the course muddier than usual – which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather. Sometimes, unfortunately, Go Ape might need to close the course for reasons beyond our control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.

Please ensure you arrive for your Go Ape activity 15 minutes before your session begins. 

Go Ape take pride in sharing their activities with as many people as possible.

All courses are designed to be accessible, but they do offer a degree of physical and mental challenge. This may mean additional equipment or adjustments to supervision.
