Things to do in the Forest of Dean:
The ancient Forest of Dean is one of the few remaining royal forests in England. This mystical and magical setting inspired Tolkien's work, and is an unparalleled backdrop as you explore from your canopy high vantage point.
This forest is designed for family fun, so plan to spend a full day discovering all it has to offer. Walk, run, or cycle along the various routes suitable for all activities.
Explore the famous Sculpture Trail, a four-mile walk featuring sculptures by artists that interpret the forest environment and the history of this unique landscape!
After working up an appetite, head to the Beechenhurst Lodge Visitor Centre, which offers a café, a children’s play area, and a climbing tower.
If you're up for more adventure after visiting Beechenhurst, explore the secret world beneath the forest at Clearwell Caves, which boasts nine show caverns with plenty to discover.
