  • Treetop Challenge: Climb, swing, and charge through this challenging set of high ropes obstacles. Tackle each individual crossing in your own unique way to see who reaches the finish line first. Suitable for anyone over 1.4m tall and aged at least 10 years old.

Things to do in Sherwood Pines:

Near to Robin Hood’s infamous Major Oak hideout, Go Ape Sherwood Pines can be found 20-miles from Nottingham. The 100-year-old pines provide a high canopy and although the woodland is open, you’ll find Go Ape's high ropes course nicely hidden.

If, after tackling the Go Ape adventure, you’re still up for more fun, there are over 3,300 acres for you to explore. The largest forest in East Midlands could keep the family busy for days!

Bring or hire bikes to take advantage of the popular cycling routes. Sherwood Pines Cycles are located a short distance from the Go Ape cabin, and offer cycle hire, repairs, and used bikes for sale.

Sherwood Pines is a regional centre of excellence with waymarked walking and cycling trails, Gruffallo sculptures and seasonal trails, as well as disc golf. 

Walking routes include the Dragonfly Trail, which has an all-weather walking surface and children’s play areas.

If you’re driving, you can find it just off the B6030 east of Kings Clipstone.
The forest is approximately 20 miles from Nottingham, making it easily accessible by car.

By Train:

The nearest train station to Sherwood Pines is Mansfield, which is approximately 7 miles away.
From Mansfield, you can take a taxi or use local bus services to reach Sherwood Pines.

By Bus:

There are local bus services that connect nearby towns and cities to Sherwood Pines.

What should I wear to Go Ape?

Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.

Wear sensible clothes for adventure and please ensure your midriff is covered.

Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

Will my Go Ape adventure be cancelled in bad weather?

Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning.

Rain makes the course muddier than usual – which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather. Sometimes, unfortunately, Go Ape might need to close the course for reasons beyond our control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.

When should I arrive for my Go Ape adventure?

Please be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your activity begins.

Is Go Ape wheelchair-accessible?

Go Ape take pride in sharing their activities with as many people as possible.

All courses are designed to be accessible, but they do offer a degree of physical and mental challenge. This may mean additional equipment or adjustments to supervision.

Please do! You’re going to want to capture these moments to share!

In order to keep your gadgets and others safe, Go Ape asks that all phones and cameras are attached to the participant. Lanyards are available to buy from the cabin, subject to availability.

Is Go Ape dog-friendly?

Most Go Ape sites are dog-friendly. Please check the ‘facilities’ tab to check if the site is dog-friendly.
