Grand Opera House, York

Grand Opera House, York

The moment you step inside the Grand Opera House in York, you know you're in for an evening to remember.

But first, why not kick your night off at one of their marvellous bars? Treat yourself to a cold beer or cocktail before the show begins, we know you deserve it.

The Matinee Club

The theatre is home to the Matinee Club - a group for over-60's who are eager theatregoers. They get together to chat all about the show over a cuppa.

If you're over 60 yourself, why not join in? Tuck into some delicious refreshments while you catch up with your new friends, sharing your favourite parts of the performance and making plans for future visits.

Accessible for everyone

With 11 wheelchair spaces available in the stalls and a free seat delivery service, you can enjoy a cold glass of whisky as you watch the show without having to lift a finger.

Wearing a hearing aid? Switch it to the 'T' setting with your induction loop necklace, provided by the theatre.

Multiple ways to reach the magic of the theatre

York train station is less than a 15-minute walk away from the theatre, with no one driving, everyone can enjoy a drink.

Buses regularly stop at Clifford Street too so you can take a short stroll from there.

At the end of the astonishing performance you'll have watched, we're sure you'll be saying, "What a wonderful way to spend our time!" We couldn't agree more.
