Haldon Forest Park

Enjoy 3,500 acres of blissful adventure

Looking for a new dog walking trail, an escape with a beautiful outlook, or an action-packed day trip?

With scenic routes for leisurely strolls, there are also many activities to challenge yourself with at Haldon Forest Park.

You can give the powerful exercise of Nordic Walking a good go, or test your map reading skills with the Gruffalo Orienteering course.

Something the kids will thrive at as they navigate their way to find the 12 hidden Gruffalo markers.

But what will you take on first?

Ever thought about trying a segway?

It’s a unique approach to exploring the woodland. If you’re a beginner, there are taster sessions for you to get comfortable with two wheels.

Perhaps you’re feeling confident enough to conquer the steeper hills with the Segway Safari?

You won’t want to stop the experience as you discover pretty gems with the fresh forest breeze brushing against your skin.

Want to try another thrilling challenge?

You'll see bikes for hire by the Go Segway starting point. Hop on and ride through stunning scenery, with the relaxing sounds of singing birds as you overlook the views of nearby Exeter.

There’s more than one trail to ride, too. The Discovery trail is perfect for a relaxed, gentle adventure with breathtaking views.

For something a bit more daring, the four-mile Kiddens trail will keep you active with varied surfaces and steep hills.

But you must make time to stop for a few moments and see how many rare butterflies you can spot!

Once you’re back, we think it’s time for a well-deserved rest at the café.

Grab a round of cappuccinos and make yourselves comfortable, chilling out with the soothing noises of rustling trees and excited conversations of other visitors ready to burn off some adrenaline.

More gripping experiences await

Bringing a big group of friends for a thrilling day out? You can hire your own yurt for a special occasion, perhaps for a big celebration or a work outing.

Imagine the memories you’d create here, making future birthday parties at the yurt a new tradition with your pals.

Maybe on your next visit, you’d like to try the dizzying heights of Go Ape?

Push yourself and feel exhilarated by the high rope courses and wobbly bridge crossings, enjoying panoramic views of the Dartmoor landscape.

We’re certain you’ll want to explore everything this spectacular forest has to offer within its idyllic surroundings.
