Enjoy a magical day in Sheffield's outdoors with Holly Hagg Farm

Holly Hagg Community Farm is Sheffield’s peaceful, feel‑good, permaculture‑powered escape, tucked away in the beautiful Rivelin Valley. This not for profit community farm blends organic growing, wildlife care and friendly animals into a countryside day out that feels like stepping into a storybook.

Highlights at Holly Hagg Farm:

Their famous Woodland Alpaca & Llama Trek. A top‑rated, soul‑soothing, grin‑inducing outdoor adventure, perfect for families, animal lovers and anyone who likes their fresh air with a side of fuzzy faces.

  • Their classic woodland trek leads guests through leafy trails, scenic paths and the farm’s surrounding countryside, accompanied by one of their gentle alpacas or the resident llama
  • It’s peaceful, friendly and suitable for ages 6+. Expect plenty of photo stops, hand‑feeding moments and those iconic alpaca selfies!
  • Each trek lasts around an hour to an hour and a half, with terrain featuring uneven rocky paths, mud and some steep sections, meaning sturdy shoes are a must
  • No buggies, umbrellas or wheelchairs due to the natural hillside terrain, and young children must be able to walk independently

More Info
Can I park at Holly Hagg Farm?

Yes! You can park anywhere on Long Lane near the Holly Hagg gate but its better if you can park uphill of the gate so you don’t need to lead the alpacas past too many cars when you set off.

What happens if it rains and the trek is cancelled?

It is important that you keep an eye on your phone and emails from a day before the trek until a couple of hours before it starts. They trek in light rain but not if it’s heavy or there are other hazards like ice or high winds. They keep an eye on the weather forecast and may issue a cancellation warning the day before or ask you about changing the time of the trek. The final decision is usually made by 9am on the morning of the trek.

Is Holly Hagg Farm wheelchair friendly?

Unfortunately, the terrain of the farm is completely outdoors, uneven and rocky in some places so wheelchair use would be very limited.
