Are Kents Caverns Prehistoric Caves wheelchair accessible?

Kents Cavern provides ramp access to the visitor centre, an accessible toilet, mostly flat concrete pathways within the cave, free parking and support for visitors with additional access needs.

  • Unfortunately, due to the nature of the attraction, Kents Prehistoric Caverns are inaccessible beyond the first underground chamber, but there is no charge for this area of the attraction.
  • A film of the tour is also available for people who are unable to accompany the tour.
Is Kents Caverns suitable for families with young children and toddlers?

Yes! Kents Cavern is a family-friendly attraction. Children under the age of three can enter at no cost.

Double-width pushchairs are not permitted into the attraction as they are too wide for the caves.

You can also head down to the Stone Age themed woodland trail and participate in The Stone Age Trail and Ice Age Animal Hunt!

How difficult is it to walk around Kents Prehistoric Caverns?

All paths are concrete, with only 9 shallow steps half-way round.

There are a handful of steep slopes, but handrails are provided throughout.
