Lady Clough

Lady Clough

Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, you'll find Lady Clough, a forest that provides excellent walks through the beautiful and relaxing woods.

A trip to this forest provides families with the perfect place to relax and take in a breath of fresh air while getting their daily exercise.

A tale of two trails

Set off north on the Blue trail and you'll walk alongside the river valley into the forest.

Providing spectacular countryside views, you’ll instantly feel connected to mother nature as you listen to the birds and look around at the marvellous trees that are full of stories.

Walking boots are definitely essential for this route as you pass over wet paths and streams, making it even more of an adventure.

Take the beauty of the area in and you could even stop for a picnic to make your time in nature last that little bit longer.

There’s nothing more peaceful than finding that perfect spot to enjoy your flask of steaming hot coffee or maybe you've brought some sandwiches and a delicious slice of homemade cake.

Cross the little bridge and you’ll realise you’re halfway through your walk. The steep climb back to your starting point provides stunning views across Lady Clough and the Woodlands Valley.

Maybe you fancy a shorter walk?

Head south along the White trail and enjoy the walk through open woodland where you'll get excellent views of the open moor.

We recommend wearing sensible footwear for this shorter walk as there are small streams to cross and steep climbs too.

Your four-legged friend can also come along for the walk, and you’ll see their tail wagging with excitement at every new plant they find - this'll easily become one of their favourite walks.

A firm family favourite day out

It doesn’t matter which trail you decide to take, being surrounded by the open moor provides spectacular scenery and an excellent chance to see stunning wildlife.

Whether you're enjoying this as a solo walk to connect with nature or bringing the whole family out for a much-needed day in the countryside, we're sure Lady Clough will become a regular family favourite.
