Leigh Woods

Leigh Woods

A trip to Leigh Woods provides the perfect place to stretch your legs and be surrounded by gorgeous wildlife, scenery, and spectacular views across Bristol.

A National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest, there's an abundance of nature for you to explore.

Beautiful walking and cycling trails

Head to the purple trail if you fancy a one-and-a-half-mile journey that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, either on foot or by beginner cyclists.

It passes through National Trust land and is a great place to take in the pretty woodland scenery and beautiful sounds of the forest.

Perhaps you're hoping for something a bit shorter? The red trail is a smaller walking trail that includes seasonal learning posts. Little ones (and grownups) will love finding out all about the forest and the wildlife that thrives here.

Designed to help you engage with the stunning surroundings, you'll be sure to leave Leigh Woods having learned a thing or two.

Enjoy life on two wheels

If you think the world is better on two wheels, then grab a mountain bike and helmet and get ready for some great fun!

With a range of different trails, everyone can have an adrenaline-filled day as you test your skills on the banked corners, drops, and climbs. You can even head to Pedal Progression, a coaching area where an expert will specially design the ideal session.

This is great if you’re not that confident on the bike, or even if you just want to brush up on the drops and corners!

Enjoy a bite to eat among beautiful surroundings

With lots of picnic tables throughout Leigh Wood, be sure you’ve made some yummy sandwiches and packed a flask of hot coffee! There’s nowhere better to have lunch than in the heart of the woodland, surrounded by nature.

If you're visiting on the weekend, pop to the café in the woods where you can grab hot drinks, delicious snacks, and homemade cakes - the perfect rewards for an afternoon walk!

What are you waiting for?
