Know Before You Go:

  • Check in and collect your tickets from our silver trailer located in Luss South Car Park
  • Please remember to have your booking confirmation with you, either printed or on your mobile
  • Parking available at Luss South Car Park at £1.20 per hour
  • You must purchase a ticket for each member of your group to access the Halloween trail
  • Dress for the occasion and the weather! Please wear waterproofs and wellies in poor weather, torches are advised for bookings later in the afternoon
  • Although your ticket is timed, the team there are flexible on your entry. Please arrive within 30 minutes of your booking time, last entry is 4pm
  • The trail is not recommended for buggies or push-chairs due to steps and steep slopes
  • Unfortunately, the trail is not wheelchair accessible at this time

By car:

From Glasgow:

  • Take the M8 motorway westbound.
  • Merge onto the A82 towards Dumbarton/Loch Lomond.
  • Continue on the A82, following signs for Loch Lomond and Luss.
  • Turn left onto the B832, which leads directly into Luss village.
  • Follow the signs for the South Car Park, which is located just south of the village.

By Bus:

  • West Coast Motors – Dunoon & Cowal Peninsula
  • McColl’s– the number 305 takes you from Balloch to Luss (via Arden); 306 from Balloch to Helensburgh (via Arden) and the 309 from Balloch to Balmaha (via Gartocharn and Drymen)
  • Garelochhead Coaches – the 302 (starting in Helensburgh ) runs via Luss, Inverbeg, Tarbet, Arrochar, Rest and be Thankful, Lochgoilhead and Carrick Castle.
  • Citylink  – Glasgow to Oban. From Balloch, start at the layby north of Stoneymollan Roundabout. 975 (via Ardlui & Tyndrum), 976 (via Arrochar & Inverary)
  • The Trossachs Explorer – Aberfoyle to Callander, via The Lodge, Ben Venue, Loch Katrine, Ben A’an, Brig O’Turk, and Kilmahog/Ben Ledi, and back again! This pilot bus service runs from 1st July – 30th September 2024.
  • Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services some areas of the National Park where there are no regular bus routes. DRT operates like a taxi and costs around the same as bus fare.

By Train:

There are two key train lines that provide access to the National Park.

  • Glasgow – Balloch: ScotRail operate a direct line from Glasgow Queen Street and the journey takes ~50 minutes and run approximately two every hour. From the station it is a short walk to catch a cruise on the loch or wander through Balloch Castle Country Park 
  • Glasgow – Oban/Fort William: ScotRail’s West Highlands route is considered one of the most scenic in the country and provides stops in and close to the National Park (Helensburgh, Garelochhead, Arrochar & Tarbet, Ardlui, Crianlarich and Tyndrum); jump off at Tarbet and Ardlui to connect with Waterbus services across to Loch Lomond’s eastern shores and the West Highland Way, Ben Lomond and Balmaha

Are dogs allowed on Loch Lomond's Faerie Trail?

Loch Lomond's Faerie Trail states that your four-legged friends are very welcome on the trails, but they request that you keep them leashed at all times and clean up any dog mess. Dog bins are provided on the trail.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted inside the Faerie Trail Farm.

Loch Lomond's Faerie Trail is primarily created for children around 3-10 years old - however, the trail can be enjoyed by the eldest explorers and youngest adventurers!

How long does it take to complete Loch Lomond's Faerie Trail?

Loch Lomond's Faerie Trail is around one mile long, but can take anywhere from one to three hours to complete. Spend as long or as little as you like finding the fairies!

What are Loch Lomond Faerie Trail's opening hours?

The trail is closed on Tuesday & Wednesday, but remains open seven days a week during July & August. The trail opens at 9:30am and last admission is 3:30pm.
