Is LOOPFEST 2026 wheelchair accessible?

Accessibility is very important to the organisers, and they aim to make the event enjoyable for everyone. Because the festival uses multiple venues across Shrewsbury - many of which are older buildings - they cannot guarantee access at every location.

Accessible Venues

  • Shrewsbury Castle is an accessible venue on one level, with accessible toilets located inside the entrance.
  • St Mary’s Church is an accessible venue on one level, with accessible toilets near the entrance; the event is held in the Lower Hall, accessible via a side door.
  • The Square is an open central area; the closest accessible toilets are located at the Old Market Hall and
  • Shrewsbury Museum (until 4pm on Saturdays, closed Sundays). Alternative toilets may be found in local bars.

General Access Information:

  • Standing & Queueing: If you have difficulty queuing please use this form to talk with the team.
  • Toilets: Toilets vary by venue, and accessible facilities may not be available everywhere.
  • Dogs: Assistance dogs are allowed, though LOOPFEST discourages bringing them to busy shows or crowded periods unless necessary; assistance dogs are welcome, but some venues may be more suitable than others.
  • Performance Accessibility: LOOPFEST currently does not offer audio enhancement systems, though they are exploring options to improve access for attendees who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have learning disabilities or autism.
  • Medical Requirements: Attendees are welcome to carry medicines, food, drinks, or medical equipment needed to manage a health condition. In emergencies, festival staff or security can provide support
  • Lighting: LOOPFEST does not use strobe lighting, but some stage lighting may include flashing effects.

Essential Companion / Personal Assistant Tickets

  • Attendees who require a full‑time assistant can access a 2‑for‑1 ticket scheme by booking a standard ticket and providing proof of eligibility.
  • Apply for your 2-for-1 ticket here.
  • LOOPFEST accepts Access Cards as proof and will honour stated assistant requirements.
  • Personal Assistant tickets require submission of evidence (e.g., DLA/PIP front page, Attendance Allowance, sight impairment evidence, assistance dog ID). Each case may be assessed individually.
