Get ready for barrels of fun, beers, live music and motors within the beautiful Ludlow Castle walls this spring

Every May, the magnificent ruins of Ludlow Castle swap swords and shields for pints and playlists as Ludlow Spring Festival pours into town. What began as a celebration of great beer has evolved into a full-bodied weekend of brewing brilliance, live music, street food, and classic cars, all wrapped in one spectacular historic setting.

Highlights of Ludlow Spring Festival:

  • At its heart, Spring Festival is the region’s largest showcase of independent craft beer. Expect a vast line-up of ales and lagers from the finest artisan brewers across the Midlands and beyond. Visitors can grab tokens, chat with the makers themselves, and sample their way through a weekend dedicated to creativity in a glass
  • This year brings something extra special. Ludlow Spring Festival is hosting the SIBA Midlands Region Indie Beer Awards, shining a spotlight on outstanding independent brewers. The Festival Pub will pour more than 200 cask and keg ales, offering a rare opportunity to taste award contenders fresh from the barrel. Judging takes place behind closed doors on Friday, but once the Festival Pub opens at 5pm, the taps are very much in your hands
  • And it is not just about beer. Discover refreshing ciders, local wines, artisan spirits, liqueurs and quality alcohol-free options too. There is something for every palate
  • Between sips, explore a handpicked selection of artisan producers offering everything from deli treats to pantry favourites. It is the perfect chance to meet the people behind the produce and stock up ahead of Ludlow’s Food Festival later in the year
  • When hunger calls, the festival food traders answer. Think wood-fired pizzas, stacked burgers, sweet pancakes, grass-fed beef, vegetarian delights and globally inspired street food. This is proper festival feasting
  • The Festival Pub is more than a bar, it is the heartbeat of the weekend. A packed programme of live bands and musicians keeps the energy high from afternoon sunshine to evening glow. Jazz, blues, rock and roll, folk, Latin rhythms and more fill the castle air as pints clink and the dance space grows
