More Info
Is Monty's Farm Park wheelchair accessible?

Yes it is!

  • The pathways have been designed to be as wheelchair‑accessible as possible. They are made from crushed Type 1 material through the woodland, which can feel slightly bumpy, but many visitors using prams and wheelchairs explore them without difficulty.
  • Families bringing a child with mobility challenges are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy seeing the animals, exploring the woods, and experiencing the natural surroundings.
  • Most play equipment is not fully accessible, so there may be fewer suitable activities for children with mobility limitations.
  • Visitors who feel this may affect their experience are encouraged to email [email protected] so the team can offer guidance on ticket pricing and assist with booking.
What age is Monty's Farm Park suitable for?

Monty’s is aimed at pre-school and primary school age children (between 18 months & 10 years approximately).

With lots of animals to meet, go karts to play on and fun play structures lots of bigger kids (and adults) love it too!

Is there food and drink at Monty's Farm Park?

Monty’s Farm Park offers food and drink through Monty’s Café, located inside the indoor play building, where meals and snacks can be enjoyed during indoor play time slots!

  • During weekends and school holidays, an outdoor Grab‑and‑Go Coffee & Grub Kiosk operates beside Monty’s shop, serving hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches and other quick snacks.
  • S. Luca’s ice cream is always available from their on‑site ice cream cabinet for anyone fancying a cone.
  • Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics and snacks to enjoy at the outdoor picnic benches located throughout the farm park.
  • Only food, drink and treats purchased on‑site may be consumed inside the indoor play barn and café.
  • Picnic tables are also available near the gift shop for guests bringing their own food.
  • The Coffee & Treat Kiosk is open during weekends and school holidays for those who want homemade goodies or a coffee outside indoor play times.
Is Monty's Farm Park dog-friendly?

Monty’s Farm Park does not allow dogs inside the farm park. This is to ensure the farm animals remain calm and comfortable, as they may be unsettled by dogs.

  • The team understands that dogs are part of many families, but maintaining a stress‑free environment for the animals is the priority.
  • From the car park, visitors may walk their dogs on a lead along the field path to Ardmore Point - but this walk is outside Monty’s and not part of the farm park itself.
  • Visitors can pick up a coffee or takeaway treat from the farm shop beside Monty’s and enjoy it in the designated dog‑friendly picnic table area outside the Ardardan tearoom and farm shop.
Are there animals at Monty's Farm Park?

Monty, the resident Highland cow (“heelan coo”), is a big, loveable favourite, and the Highland cows are always happy to see visitors!

The animal paddocks include donkeys, alpacas (Kevin & Duncan), several varieties of sheep, and pygmy goats.

Visitors can also meet Bramble and Muffin, the farm’s friendly donkeys.

In other areas, the park is home to chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, and rabbits in the small animal shed.

The farm also cares for two large pigs, Thelma & Louise.

All animals follow a strict diet, so guests are asked to only feed them with approved animal feed purchased from the welcome kiosk.

Can you book Monty's Farm Park Indoor Play Tickets on their own?

Monty’s Farm Park does not offer indoor‑only play tickets; indoor play is an optional add‑on to the main outdoor admission.

  • The park is primarily an outdoor attraction, with indoor play offered only during weekend and holiday sessions.
  • Indoor play is not included in every ticket, giving visitors the choice to enjoy outdoor play and animal areas without needing an indoor slot.
  • On most days, visitors can add an indoor play session during the booking process if available.
  • When adding an indoor slot, guests should arrive 5–10 minutes before the booked time to ensure they don’t miss their session.
  • Visitors are welcome to stay and enjoy the outdoor areas for as long as they wish during opening hours on their chosen day.
