What is The Lion King about?

Combining the story of Shakespeare's Hamlet with vibrant original songs, The Lion King tells the story of a young lion named Simba, who dreams to one day be king of Pride Rock. When his father, Mufasa, is killed by his treacherous brother Scar, Simba is forced into exile and must discover what it truly means to be a king so he can take his rightful throne.
