Celebrate St George's Day in Newcastle
Join re-enactors from the Castle's own Newcastle Array and celebrate the medieval patron Saint of England, St George! Enjoy family crafts, displays and performances throughout your day.
Family Crafts:
- 11am - 3pm
- Harbottle Suite in the Black Gate
- Make a knight, dragon or try brass rubbing in arts and crafts activities!
Living History Displays:
- 10am - 4pm
- In the Gaol in the Castle Keep
- See displays of historical crafts from medieval life! Learn about the inhabitants of the castle and how they lived 700+ years ago.
Knight School:
- 10am - 4pm
- In the Great Hall in the Castle Keep
- Try on medieval armour and learn about Knights during the Middle Ages
- Try your hand at sword training with foam swords and shields!
