Written, directed and produced by Robert Eggers for his feature directorial debut, The Witch (2015) is a folk horror film with a cult following. Set in 1630's New England, The VVitch follows a Puritan family who encounters forces of evil in the woods beyond their farm. William and Katherine try to lead a devout Christian life with their five children, when suddenly their newborn son mysteriously vanishes. As their crops begin to fail, the family turns on one another, leaving them as prey for an inconceivable evil...
