When we think of artisans, those skilled folk who create and make everything by hand, usually we end up casting our minds back in time. To historical street markets full of people selling their creations whether they be beautiful hand painted ceramics, woven textiles, furniture...

But what about the modern artisans in the world of food and drink? We've all perhaps heard of artisan breads and cheeses that can only be made by the most skilled bakers and producers. Well, the same applies to delicious beverages.

The Old Poison in Edinburgh are very much seen as an artisanal distillery. It was founded by Fabrizio Cioffi, an Italian mixologist who has made the heart of Scotland's capital his home. Bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and years of experimentation, his mission is simple: to offer you the best distillery experience ever. 

What's on offer during your visit?

This distillery offers two stunning experiences that all include you having a good glug and nibble.

Tour & Tasting - 1hr - learn all about the process and different distillation techniques at the Old Poison. Their method of production is a mix of classic and contemporary methods, which sounds fascinating. Oh, and have a taste of the full range of spirits they produce!

Cocktails & Food Pairings - 1hr 30 mins - 3 unique cocktails paired with premium Italian cheese, dried meats, Scottish Salmon or Scottish oysters and to round up your experience, a handmade tiramisu prepared at the table! Yum.
