Two unbelievably beautiful walks

With two equally spectacular walks to choose from, you’re in for a treat whichever one you choose.

Both waymarked, the three-mile Beach and Dunes walk follows a section of the stunning Wales Coast Path before returning along the beach whereas the Nicholaston Woods Walk is a bit shorter and offers fabulous views of Oxwich Bay.

Walk through the ancient woodland and see the carpet of flowers blooming beneath your feet in the spring.

The Nicholaston path is slightly steeper in places with uneven surfaces, so we’d recommend pulling your comfy walking shoes on before you set off.

Get up close to the wildlife

This oasis is ideal for anyone who loves to get up close to some of the rarest plants and animals.

With over 600 species of colourful flowering plants and so many different habitats in one place, you’ll be eager to start exploring as soon as you get out of the car.

Beautiful wild orchids can be seen between May and June and if you walk through the nature reserve in the summer, the air will be alive with the sound of buzzing insects.

Look out for the small blue butterfly, fluttering around you. 

Staying until dusk? You might be lucky enough to watch the bats hunting for insects in the woodlands.

A bit of bird watching

The lakes and marsh are the perfect spot if you’d like to do a bit of bird watching.

Head along the boardwalk to the bird hide and keep your eyes peeled for ducks, moorhens and even little grebes.
