About Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical in Concert

From humble beginnings in Louisiana to a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Lloyd Price transformed the soundscape of a generation.

Born and raised in the deep South during the harsh realities of segregation, Price rose above adversity with sheer talent and determination. His groundbreaking hits, “Personality,” “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” and “Stagger Lee”, did more than top the charts; they shattered racial barriers and redefined popular music.

Lloyd Price’s influence stretched far beyond his own recordings. His music resonated across generations and genres, inspiring legends like Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Amy Winehouse, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney.

In 1998, his immense contribution to music was honoured with induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the founding fathers of rock and roll.
