Choose your Spooktacular fright level

Spooktacular sessions become darker and scarier throughout the evening, making it easier to choose an experience that suits your group's age and appetite for frights. Choose from different session times designed for younger children, older children, teenagers and adults, then prepare for an after-dark adventure with just the right fright level for your group.

  • Gentle & Magical: The lightest experience, designed with younger children in mind

On Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October, sessions begin at 7pm, 7:30pm, 8pm and 8:30pm. On 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th October, sessions begin at 6:30pm, 7pm, 7:30pm and 8pm.

The Halloween Special on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October includes additional sessions. Gentle & Magical sessions begin at 5pm and 5:30pm, Thrilling & Spooky sessions at 6pm and 6:30pm, Intense Frights at 7pm and Maximum Terror at 7:30pm.

Your Halloween adventure begins with a journey aboard the decorated tombstone tractor and trailer. The ride travels from the entrance towards the forest, where winding paths lead through cobwebs, eerie graveyards, skeletons, giant spiders and a bubbling witch's cauldron.

Is Spooktacular wheelchair accessible?

The full Spooktacular Haunted Forest route is not wheelchair accessible because it follows uneven, dimly lit natural woodland paths. Wheelchair users can use the accessible tractor to reach the forest entrance, where the games, music, welcome area and activities are accessible. The full forest walk cannot be adapted.

What age is Spooktacular suitable for?

Spooktacular offers different sessions for different ages and fright levels. Gentle & Magical sessions are designed for younger children, Thrilling & Spooky sessions suit older children, Intense Frights sessions are aimed at teenagers and Maximum Terror sessions are for adults only.

Is there food and drink at Spooktacular?

Yes. The Dizzy Duck Cafe is open from 4pm to 8pm, serving hot food, drinks and treats. Spooktacular ticket holders receive 10% off meals. Outside food, drink and alcohol are not permitted.

How long does Spooktacular last?

Spooktacular lasts approximately 60 minutes in total from check-in. Arrive 15 minutes before your selected session time.

Do Spooktacular tickets include entry to Perthshire Zoo?

Are there jump scares at Spooktacular?

Yes, but the intensity depends on the session selected. Gentle & Magical sessions avoid actors jumping out at guests, while later sessions include stronger scares. Maximum Terror is the most intense option and is for adults only.

Can pushchairs and buggies enter Spooktacular?

No. The Haunted Forest uses uneven, dimly lit natural paths and is not suitable for pushchairs or buggies.
