  • For younger skaters, there are skates which mount on top of their shoes with 2 blades either side for more stability
  • Children are not allowed to be carried on the ice

How long are ice skating sessions at Plymouth Winter Wonderland?

Ice Skating sessions at Plymouth's Winter Wonderland last for approximately 45 minutes. Please arrive in good time to be prepared, as there is only a 15 minute changeover time.

Health and Safety Overview

  • Policies are in place to ensure visitor safety on the ice rink.
  • All skaters must read and acknowledge these policies before entering the rink.
  • Instructions from ice marshals and event staff must be followed at all times.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone not complying with safety rules.

Skater’s Code of Conduct

  • Management is not responsible for any loss or injury incurred.
  • By skating, participants accept the inherent risks, including: Injuries from collisions or contact with other skaters.
  • Injuries from falls.
  • Injuries involving objects or structures within the skating path.
  • Skaters must: Maintain reasonable control of speed at all times.
  • Keep a proper lookout to avoid other skaters and obstacles.
  • Skate within their ability and session conditions.
  • Avoid skating under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or impairing substances.
  • Leave the ice during resurfacing, at session end, or when directed by staff.
  • Avoid taking food or drink onto the rink.
  • Avoid behavior that could cause injury to themselves or others.
  • Avoid altercations, abusive language, or disorderly conduct.
  • Not sit, climb, or place feet on the rink barrier.

Additional Rules

  • Anti-social behavior will not be tolerated; offenders will be asked to leave without refund.
  • Skaters removed for breaking rules will not receive a refund.
  • Ice marshals may remove anyone posing a danger to themselves or others.
  • Offensive behavior will result in removal from the rink.
  • At session end, skaters must exit the rink as directed by staff.
  • Parents must supervise toddlers closely at all times.
  • Skaters must pay attention to others, especially those ahead.
  • Skating direction is anti-clockwise unless instructed otherwise.

DON’Ts

  • Do not smoke or vape anywhere at the rink.
  • Do not enter the ice without skates.
  • Do not wear hoodies with the hood up.
  • Do not take mobile phones, bags, cameras, or similar items onto the ice.
  • Do not eat, drink, or chew gum on the ice.
  • Do not play tag or games on the ice.
  • Do not sit or climb on the rink barrier.
  • Do not skate across the middle or against the flow of skaters.
  • Do not skate in chains or trains of three or more people (two holding hands is allowed).
  • Do not chip, throw, or spray ice.
  • Do not carry children or infants while skating.
  • Do not stand still or gather in groups on the ice.
  • Do not spin, jump, or attempt acrobatic tricks.
