Santa’s Steam Specials depart from Kidderminster Town Station (DY10 1QX). Visitors arriving via Station Approach should bear right to access the SVR car park.

Are the Santa Steam Specials dog-friendly?

Due to the busy nature of the Santa Steam Special trains, dogs are not permitted unless they are assistance dogs.

Due to the nature of the train, Santa's Steam Specials trains are not all wheelchair accessible or buggy-friendly. If necessary, they may be folded and stored onboard.

Will Santa's Steam Specials be held on a steam train?

Severn Valley Railway aims to operate Santa Steam Specials and Elf Express services with steam locomotives. In the event of steam engine unavailability, a diesel locomotive may be substituted without prior notice. Services may be suspended, rescheduled, or cancelled due to operational or safety concerns.

Important Information:
  • When booking, please ensure you include the names and ages of ALL children travelling so they receive a gift.
  • Seating on the train is available in private compartments of six, private compartments of four or reserved tables of four and two.
  • You can add one additional passenger to compartment bookings if your group is made up of five or seven passengers.
  • If your booking contains a wheelchair, a specific wheelchair space must be reserved on the train.
  • Children under two do not count towards the number of people in your group; they travel free of charge and will receive a present.
  • Dogs are not permitted on Santa’s Steam Specials (assistance dogs welcome).
  • Please arrive up to 45 minutes before your selected departure time. Kidderminster Station has an ANPR-controlled car park for £4 per day.
  • Please leave buggies at home. If you have to bring a buggy, it must be folded down and stored on the train. Buggies are not allowed into the show at Arley.
