What's On at the Spring Gala in Somerset and Dorset?

Enjoy the chance to ride a variety of trains from Somerset and Dorset Railway station, with journeys beginning at 10am!

  • Admire the entire home fleet in action!
  • Ride on the Class 107 DMU, Mark 1 Coaches, D1120 and the 08 Shunter, D4095
  • With trains running every 30 minutes, ride as many or as little as you like!
  • Trains will travel from the Down Platform and return to the Up Platform
  • In-between train rides, watch as the locomotive fleet move along the track in preparation for the next service
  • Visit the Museum, WWII Pill Box and Anderson Shelter
  • Enjoy a variety of hot and cold refreshments from the Buffet Carriage
  • Head to The Emporium and enjoy the option to purchase a range of secondhand books, model railways and more

Packed into a one-mile section on a charismatic railway with a remarkable history, get ready to experience an original Victorian Railway station, painstakingly restored by the teams group of fantastic volunteers!

With the aim of replicating the station as it was in the 1950's, you'll enjoy vintage trains, historic railway tracks, a visit to the fascinating museum and so much more.
