Luckily for fans of either spirit, Stirling Distillery has mastered the art of both.

You’ll find them in the shadow of Stirling Castle, the mighty 12th-century fortress watching over the city.

The distillery has made a home for themselves in a building with its own fascinating history, at one time a church temperance hall and likely the place where King James V stabled his horses in the 16th-century

Then in 2019, Cameron and June McCann lovingly made it the home of Stirling Distillery.

So it comes as no surprise really, that the charm of the city has you enchanted the moment you arrive. But that’s only the beginning. Now it’s time to head inside Stirling Distillery and start your next adventure.

Ready to begin your tour?

After originally starting out life as solely a gin-based distillery, after a few years the Stirling Distillery team began dabbling in whisky, discovering they were rather good at it.

Now, you can get your hands on both. But first, why not go on a tour and tasting? Pick from their whisky or gin experience, and after learning all about the distillery’s history and a few intriguing stories about the city, it’s time to sample some of their delights.

Whichever you choose, you’ll have a selection of drinks to sample. From the Red Cap and Green Lady gins to the selection of single malt whiskeys – each one has a unique flavour profile.

If you’re up for really getting to grips with the ins and outs of the gin-making process, The Old Smiddy Gin School experience has got you covered.

Get your cocktail skills on

You’ll get to create your very own gin, using the botanicals at the distillery to give your liquor its own unique taste. Something a little light and fruity perhaps? Or with a fiery and citrus punch? It’s entirely up to you.

After it’s bottled and labelled, you get to take it home. Hide it away and keep it for yourself or make a round of G&Ts to share with family and friends.

With ice or without, tonic or a spritzer - there’s certainly not a wrong way to drink gin: however you like it is all that matters.
