Big Banquet is located in the grounds of Caldicot Castle just 10 mins off the M4 between Chepstow and Newport. It’s around 40 mins from Bristol and Cardiff. Sat nav address is Caldicot Castle, Church Road, Caldicot, NP26 4HU. 

The team always encourage you to carshare if you can – this will not only help with traffic it’s also doing your bit for the planet! If you prefer to travel by train the closest station is in Caldicot and Severn Tunnel Junction is a short taxi drive away. 

From the West 

  • Exit at Magor Services junction 23A.
  • Follow signs for Caldicot.
  • Follow signs for Castle. 
  • Enter the Castle grounds via Church Street 

From the East 

  • Use the M48 over the old Severn Bridge for a more direct route.
  • Enter the Castle grounds via Church Street 

Parking

  • Parking is located in a field in the castle grounds.
  • Spaces are limited and you will need to book a pre-paid car park on our ticket page.
  • If you have already bought your event tickets, you can book an add-on in STORE.
  • Your parking ticket is restricted to your session time.
  • It takes approximately 5 minutes to walk from the car park to the main event site.

There is also accessible parking. Blue Badge holders will be directed by stewards on arrival.

Is The Big Banquet wheelchair accessible?

There is an accessible car park that is located very close to the site.

  • Please advise the car park team on arrival.

Once onsite the ground for the most part, is wheelchair accessible. Traders are accessible and toilets are convenient.

What age is The Big Banquet suitable for?

The Big Banquet is family‑friendly, and children are warmly welcomed at all sessions except the adult‑only Friday evening session, which is clearly labelled at the time of ticket purchase.

  • Friday night sessions are strictly 16+; an adult ticket is required for anyone aged 16 and over.
  • All evening sessions are adult‑focused. Children may attend, but there are no circus activities, and entertainment is designed for an adult audience.
  • All daytime sessions are family‑focused, featuring circus school, live performances, bubbles and playful interactive elements.
  • Under 16s attend free of charge, but must be accompanied by a ticket‑holding adult at all times.
  • Children must be supervised at all times. While the event encourages freedom and play, some areas are not enclosed and unsupervised children could become lost.
  • Children must not go behind food traders due to serious electrical equipment in these areas.
  • Open fires are often part of the event experience, and close adult supervision is essential at all times.
  • Climbing on trees, structures or surrounding infrastructure is not permitted, as it poses a safety risk.

The organisers are committed to creating a safe, joyful playground for everyone and ask all families to help keep the space secure, respectful and enjoyable for all.

What can you bring to The Big Banquet?
  • There is seating available onsite, but you are welcome to bring your own camping chairs or blankets for extra comfort.
  • Please do not bring your own food and drink - choose to support the independent street food traders instead!
  • You will be asked to dispose of any food or drink brought onto site. 
What kind of food is there at The Big Banquet?
  • Vegan/Vegetarian: There are a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available. Not every trader will accommodate these dietary specifics, but the team try their best to include a range of options that are suitable. Ask traders for their choices, as some dishes can be adapted.
  • Kids Food: Yes – there is plenty to choose from! Each trader has specifically designed a kid-friendly menu choice to get the kids trying new and exciting food!
  • Allergies: Speak directly to traders before ordering and ask for allergen information. It is very important that you let the traders know of any dietary requirements ahead of placing an order. Depending on the severity of your allergy, some traders may decide not to serve you due to the risk of cross-contamination.
Can you leave and re-enter The Big Banquet?

There is a strict no re-entry policy in place. Make sure you have everything you need for your session time. 

Do you have a time limit on The Big Banquet sessions?

The Big Banquet operates the event in sessions.

  • Your session time will correlate to the time on the ticket.
  • If you want to stay longer you can purchase multiple sessions or even let the team know on the day that you need more time and they can try to fit you into the next session.
