Is Swanage Railway in Dorset dog-friendly?

Dogs are allowed on board, but must be leashed on the floor. 

However, dogs are not permitted in the buffets, dining trains or the station shop. 

Is Swanage Railway Station wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the Dorset heritage railway station is wheelchair accessible.

  • Wheelchairs are able to be carried in the Guard's Van. 

If the passenger has some mobility, they can sit in the nearby passenger accomodation rather than travel in the van. 

  • The trains have corridor connections between the coaches, and a ramp is available at all stations to provide access to wheelchair users. 
  • Ramps have a weight limit of 300kg.
