A special journey on a heritage railway

A ‘pannad’ is the Welsh word for ‘cuppa’, and on this experience you get to enjoy a luxury pannad combined with a steam train trip.

The Talyllyn railway was built in the 1860’s to transport slate, and quarrymen between Tywyn and Abergynolwyn.

The Quarrymans Pannad itinerary

Your trip begins at Tywyn Wharf station. Here you can explore the area's history through the collection of rail artefacts, in the Museum, before joining your steam train, which leaves on the seven-mile trip along the Fathew Valley. This journey will have you retracing the route taken in Victorian times by the Bryneglwys quarry's miners.

At Abergynolwyn you'll step off the train in time to enjoy a luxury Afternoon Tea with sandwiches, savouries and cakes before returning on the train back to Wharf.
