How to find us

By car:

There is no parking available on-site at Techniquest. However, there are plenty of nearby parking facilities: 

  • Mermaid Quay Car Park (1-minute walk)
  • Havannah Street Car Park (5-minute walk)
  • Britannia Park Car Park (9-minute walk)
  • Q-Park Car Park (10-minute walk)
  • The Lock Keepers Cottage Car Park (12-minute walk)
  • Red Dragon Centre Car Park (14-minute walk)

By train: 

There are regular train services from Cardiff Queen Street to Cardiff Bay Station — Techniquest is just a 10-minute walk from Cardiff Bay Station. You can even enjoy 25% off in the gift shop when you show your TfW rail ticket from that day!

By bus:

Take the regular 'Baycar' service number 6 for a direct link to the bay from the city centre, or services 1, 2 and 8 for links to other areas nearby. 

By bike: 

Techniquest is located near to the start of the Taff Trail. Facilities for bicycle storage are provided by the main entrance.

Is Techniquest wheelchair-accessible?

Yes, Techniquest has level access throughout the exhibition area, with lifts between floors and accessible toilets on all floors.

What age is Techniquest suitable for?

Techniquest is suitable for all ages, with children under 3 admitted free. Some additional experiences have age guidance, including live science shows usually recommended for ages 5+ or 7+, and KLA Lab workshops for ages 7+ only.

Is there food and drink at Techniquest?

Yes, Coffee Mania is located next to the main entrance and can also be accessed through Techniquest’s main foyer. It serves snacks, cakes, children’s packed-lunch boxes and hot and cold drinks, including gluten-free and vegan options.

Are these the cheapest tickets for Techniquest?

Are dogs allowed at Techniquest?

Only assistance dogs are welcome at Techniquest. Water for assistance dogs is available on request.

Yes, in order to avoid disappointment, it is advised that you book your Techniquest tickets in advance. 

Is Techniquest an all-day activity?

You can easily spend multiple hours exploring everything that Techniquest has to offer. Most visits last a few hours, but your ticket is valid for all-day entry. 

Is there a quiet space at Techniquest?

Yes, The Pod is a small, private room that you and your family can spend some time in to decompress from sensory overload, or to take a timeout from the hustle and bustle of the main exhibition space.
