The Great British Food Festival Harewood House is arriving in Leeds this spring for an incredible family festival full of food and fun

From the 24th to the 26th of May 2025, Harewood House will be host to the Great British Food Festival!

Feast your eyes on a family day out that has something for everyone, from food, to live music, kids activities and even something for the dogs! There really are so many things to do in Leeds' big food festival. 

Here's a sneak peak of some of the foodie fun going on at Harewood House this year:

  • Artisan Market: From chocolate to chutney and cheese to chili sauce, there's a huge selection of tasty treats that's bound to prove a terrific time for your tastebuds. 
  • Street food: Whether its tacos, pastas, burgers, hot dogs or curries that you're looking for, you won't be disappointed tasting the festival's super street food. Every trader is rated a 5-Star hygiene rating! 
  • Chef Demos: Chefs from all over will be giving cooking demonstrations on their favourite meals so you can learn the ways of becoming a master chef too! 
  • Bake Stage: Join the Fabulous Sandy D from Great British Bake-Off on the Bake Stage this year. She's ready to entertain you with some fabulous recipes and top tips!
  • BBQ Stage: Expect lots of smoke and tasty tips throughout the day as you become a barbie king or barbie queen with the exciting new BBQ stage program! 
  • Food Challenges: It's man and woman vs food on the Challenge Stage! From dessert showdowns, to sausage eat-offs and the fiery chilli challenge, these foody contests are a must-see. 
  • Cake Off: Over 800 cakes have been cut, tasted and deliberated, but only one can be the winner... Make sure not to miss the fiercely competitive Cake Off. 
  • Foraging Walks: Embark on a guided walk around the site and forage for goodies with edible, medicinal and even cosmetic uses. 
  • Kids Cookery: Little ones are in for a treat when they learn how to cook some new recipes. For 30-40 minutes, kids can cook up some Rocky Road Truffles or Peppermint & Orange Pebbles to take home. 

But that's not all! Here's some other things to do at Great British Food Festival Yorkshire this year: 

  • Live Music: From 10am to 5pm, a wide range of musicians will be taking to the stage to provide the sounds to your food-tastic day.

Getting to Harewood House

By car

The village of Harewood is centrally placed in Yorkshire at the junction of the A61/A659 on the Leeds/Harrogate road.

Harewood has ample free parking. They are situated:

  • 5 miles from Wetherby and the A1
  • 7 miles from Leeds and Harrogate on the A61
  • 8 miles from the M1
  • 9 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport
  • 22 miles from York

The desitnation postcode is LS17 9LG, although Sat Nav users are recommended to try LS17 9LQ as this will bring you straight to the main archway entrance to Harewood House off the A61.

By bus

There is an excellent bus service from Leeds and Harrogate

The No. 36 runs to Harewood from Leeds and Harrogate runs every 15 minutes during the day Monday to Saturday, and every 30 minutes during the day on Sunday. 

No. 923 runs daily (except Sunday) and operates from Otley to Tadcaster via Wetherby.

By train

The nearest rail stations are Leeds and Harrogate. Taxis and bus connections are available.

Is The Great British Food Festival wheelchair accessible?

GBFF welcomes all visitors, including those with mobility restrictions and families with prams.

  • Designated parking for Blue Badge holders is provided close to the event site; most parking is on fields and may be muddy in bad weather.
  • Drop-offs for visitors with mobility restrictions can be arranged in advance or on the day.
  • Accessible toilets with baby changing facilities are available on the main event field; some venues offer additional facilities.

Yes! The Great British Food Festival is suitable for all ages, with family-friendly entertainment and activities available all day.

  • Children aged 0–4 years enter free at all GBFF events (except Trentham Gardens, where free entry is for ages 0–3)
  • Children aged 5–17 years can purchase a discounted child ticket.
  • A free ticket must still be obtained for qualifying children and can be selected at checkout.

Are dogs allowed at The Great British Food Festival?

GBFF welcomes dogs but they must be kept on a lead at all times and owners must clean up after them.

  • Dogs are not allowed in food marquees, demo tents, or most Estate buildings 
  • Dogs must be supervised by an adult at all times; aggressive behaviour will result in removal from the event.
  • Do not leave dogs in cars, especially on hot days, for their safety.
  • XL Bully dogs and any banned/dangerous breeds are not permitted; entry will be refused.
  • Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.
