Step inside the murky past of London
From the moment you enter the London Dungeon, chills run down your spine.
Begin your descent into the year 1536 with the resident Life Jester and enter a rat-infested tunnel that winds beneath the city of London.
The 90-minute tour features 13 thrilling scenes and in each one, you'll learn all about London’s darkest history. You'll soon realise that fear is a funny thing, as your mind begins to play tricks on you.
You don’t just see and hear the experience. You also smell and feel it!
We don’t want to give anything away, but let's just say you're in for a few surprises. The unexpected frights along the way make the London Dungeon an experience to remember.
Become part of the action
Do you like being the centre of attention? Your creepy tour guide will pick victims (we mean volunteers!) to be a part of the action.
Will you be humiliated in the Torture Chamber? How will you plead in the courtroom as the Judge decides your fate?
Meet Guy Fawkes and find out all about his plot to blow up Parliament before heading to 1666, where the Great Fire of London is about to sweep through the city.
Face the executioner
The ultimate end to your journey is the chance to experience the long drop at Newgate Prison. The thrilling ride will have you dropping to your 'death' just as the prisoners did in 1783. (This is optional if you don’t have a strong stomach!)
Play the punter and share a drink with the locals while you listen to some entertaining and chilling stories of London’s history.
The boastful east-end landlady and her henpecked landlord serve up some rather nice beers, cocktails, or soft drinks to calm your nerves.
If you're looking for an event to look forward to, check out ‘Dungeon Lates’, an adult-only tour on selected dates that also includes two alcoholic beverages.
Good to know
Located at South Bank, just look for the London Eye and you’ll find the entrance to the Dungeons nearby.
It's just a two-minute walk from Waterloo train and underground station, plus there are plenty of buses and even a river service too! The attraction is wheelchair friendly, just phone them up beforehand to let them know when you'll be arriving.
There's a recommended age of 12 and over (minimum age of 5) - however, parents can decide whether their child will be able to withstand all the gruesome sights. There are lots of funny innuendos throughout, which makes it fun for all the family.
Finally, and most importantly, good luck!
