About The Wanderers
The Wanderers is a compelling, multi-layered story that delves into the complexities of identity, faith, and the lasting impact of our choices. At its heart is Abe, a successful Jewish novelist who has distanced himself from religion and finds himself questioning both his career and his marriage. His wife, Sophie, also a writer, is quietly battling her own creative insecurities and emotional disconnect.
Their lives take a dramatic turn when Abe begins an intimate exchange with a well-known actress, sparking a series of events that threaten to unravel everything they know.
Running parallel is the story of Esther and Schmuli, a young Orthodox Jewish couple navigating the early days of their arranged marriage in 1980s Brooklyn. As Esther begins to challenge the strict boundaries of her world, her decisions set in motion a ripple effect that spans generations.
Through these intersecting narratives, The Wanderers explores what it means to belong, to break free, and to confront the legacies we inherit.
