Join London Concertante for a candlelit piano recital performed by Gunel Mirzayeva, featuring a wide-ranging programme that moves from the Baroque to the early 20th century.
The evening includes Chopin’s lyrical Nocturnes, Mozart’s elegant Sonata in A major, K.331, and Debussy’s atmospheric Arabesques and Clair de lune. Earlier music is represented by Rameau’s Pièces de clavecin and Bach’s Aria from the Goldberg Variations, presented here with improvisations that bring a fresh perspective to a familiar work.
The concert concludes with Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor - the “Moonlight” Sonata - one of the most recognisable and enduring works in the piano repertoire.
