Is The Polar Express™ experience with Vintage Trains in Birmingham wheelchair accessible?

The team behind The Polar Express™ are dedicated to making the experience as accessible as possible. This means that they are able to assist you wherever necessary.

  • However, due to a lot of the vehicles (vintage rolling stock) being inaccessible, the team are unable to accommodate for passengers with serious disabilities and mobility problems. 
  • Wheelchairs are not able to board the train. 
How long is The Polar Express™ experience in Birmingham?

Please allow 2 hours for your Christmas train experience! After the performance and experience, you'll have the chance to take selfies with the cast in front of the iconic steam engine. 

How do The Polar Express™ tickets work?

You should arrive at Birmingham Moor Street 30 minutes prior to your scheduled train time ride. 

  • You will receive your seat reservations via email 48 hours before the scheduled event. 
  • On the day, you will collect your special Golden Tickets from the train station.
  • Children aged 3 and under travel for free if they are not occupying a seat, but the team must be notified prior to boarding.
  • Only one child aged 3 or under is permitted to travel with 2 adults.
  • Under 3's sitting on a parent/guardian's knee will still receive hot chocolate, cookie and a bell from Santa.

All train rides depart from Birmingham Moor Street station.

  • 20/12/2025 & 21/12/2025: Departs 10:30. Returns 12:00.
  • 22/11/2025 - 23/12/2025: Departs 12:30. Returns 14:00.
  • 22/11/2025 - 23/12/2025: Departs 14:30. Returns 16:00.
  • 22/11/2025 - 23/12/2025: Departs 16:30. Returns 18:00.

What do The Polar Express™ tickets include?

The prices are for a seat on the train ride and are the same for adults and children. Children 3 and under can travel for free if they do not occupy a seat but you must add an infant to your booking. Only one child aged 3 and under can travel for every 2 adults booked.
