The largest area of ancient woodland in Wales with over 1000 hectares for you to explore, we’d recommend beginning your walk at the information board, where you can find a map of the area and read about the hidden gems waiting for you inside.

History lovers will love the archaeological features set within the forest, with the remains of an old mill and ancient tracks. Check out the history of the area before you go and impress everyone with your knowledge!
Plenty of nature to see
If you’re visiting in spring, you’ll be lucky enough to see a delightful carpet of bluebells, which really is worth a trip in itself.
Planning an autumn visit? Colourful fungi lace the woodland as you walk through the woods listening to the birds singing to you.
Keep an eye out for the ancient Curly Oak too - an unusual yet impressive-looking tree within the woods that must have witnessed some astonishing sights in its time.
Over 70 species of bird and 23 species of butterfly have been spotted at Wentwood and if you look carefully, you may see deer, lizards, or even adders on your visit. Who knows what gems you may see along the way?

Head to Foresters Oaks where you’ll find picnic benches, surrounded by open grassland with a magnificent view of the picturesque Severn Estuary. What a way to end the day.
