During your time here, an expert chocolate maker will share the secrets of the cocoa and how it gets transformed into chocolate. You will discover the rich history of chocolate making in York before taking a peek into the manufactory and watching the delicious chocolate being made.

The session concludes with a special tasting conducted by the House's very-own cocoa connoisseur. You will sample the chocolate that's made from cocoa beans all around the world, experiencing the different strengths and flavour notes in the site's range.

Following the journey, you are invited for a bite at the Chocolate Café, where you can use your ticket to enjoy further discounts across the whole product range.

How to find us

By car

It is recomended to use the Park & Ride facility at the York Designer Outlet - A64/A19 junction south of York YO19 4TA, get the Line 7 bus into York and get out at the York Dungeon. As you exit the bus cross over the road and take Friargate up the hill, you will see York Cocoa Works on your left hand side as you reach Castlegate.

Closer car parking is available at the Cliffords Tower car park, upon leaving the car park walk along Castlegate as you near Coppergate you will see York Cocoa Works on the left hand side. 

By bus

York Cocoa House is only a short walk from York Train Station. As you leave the station turn left and follow the main road into York, across the river (head towards York Minster). As you cross over the river at Lendal Bridge, take the first right and head along Lendal. Continue straight along Coney Street and Spurriergate. Past the traffic lights you will see a zebra crossing straight ahead. As you cross over Coppergate with Castelgate, the York Cocoa House is straight ahead of you on the right hand side of the road.
